Here at WelshGold.com, we love working with clients on commissions.

Sometimes people know exactly what they want, other times they are less sure. Our job is to help you to firm up your ideas to enable the finished item to be something that fills you with joy whenever you look at it. We are happy to work in a range of precious metals (Fairmined where possible) and ethical gemstones.

Once we have an idea of what you have in mind our designer will prepare preliminary sketches for approval and then, if necessary, more detailed drawings. After that, if required, CAD (Computer Aided Design) images will be prepared to give you a very accurate rendering of how the piece will look in real life.

Following that our goldsmith will make the piece.

The cost of this process is usually relatively modest. We charge £25 per hour for the designer’s time and the same per hour for the CAD work. We ask for a payment of £200 in advance of the work described above. And then, if necessary, further monthly top-up payments until the design has been settled. Once the design is agreed the remaining credit will be taken off the cost of the finished piece. In the unlikely event of a client not proceeding with the commission then the amount in credit, after the design costs, will be refunded.

An hour’s face-to-face design consultation with one of goldsmiths, either in London's Hatton Garden or in Yorkshire, is available by arrangement at a cost of £60 per hour (plus £15 per 15 minutes thereafter).
