At WelshGold.com, we believe that beautiful jewellery should be created and supplied with care, integrity and respect for people as well as materials. We are committed to conducting our business responsibly and to opposing slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking in all their forms.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery within our own business and seek, so far as reasonably practicable, to work only with suppliers, makers and service providers who share our commitment to lawful and ethical business practices.
Our commitment
We are committed to running our business in a way that reflects the values of honesty, fairness and respect. This includes taking reasonable and proportionate steps to reduce the risk of modern slavery or human trafficking in connection with our business and supply chain.
In particular, we aim to:
- act ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships
- work with reputable suppliers, craftspeople and service providers
- avoid any knowing involvement with businesses or individuals connected with slavery, trafficking or exploitative labour practices
- take concerns seriously if they are raised in relation to any part of our business or supply chain
- review supplier relationships carefully and take appropriate action where serious concerns arise
Our business and supply chain
Aur Cymru Limited operates WelshGold.com and supplies jewellery to customers. Our activities include sourcing precious metals, gemstones, jewellery components, packaging and related services, and working with specialist makers and other trusted partners.
As a smaller specialist business, we have a more focused supply chain than many larger organisations, but we take our responsibilities seriously. We value trusted relationships and expect the people and businesses we work with to uphold proper standards of legal and ethical conduct.
Our approach
We seek to reduce risk in a practical and proportionate way, taking into account the size and nature of our business. Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- making reasonable enquiries before entering into supplier or contractor relationships
- favouring suppliers and partners who demonstrate responsible and ethical sourcing practices
- expecting compliance with applicable employment laws and anti-slavery legislation
- reviewing relationships where concerns are raised or where the nature of the supply chain suggests increased risk
- ending relationships where we believe this is necessary because of serious ethical concerns
We expect our suppliers, contractors and business partners not to use forced labour, bonded labour, trafficked labour, involuntary labour, or any form of slavery, servitude or unlawful exploitation.
Speaking up
If any concern arises relating to modern slavery, human trafficking or exploitative labour practices in connection with our business or supply chain, we encourage it to be reported promptly.
Concerns may be raised by using our Contact Us form.
Any such concerns will be treated seriously and considered carefully. Where appropriate, we will investigate the matter and decide what further action should be taken.
Responsibility and review
Responsibility for this policy rests with the management of Aur Cymru Limited. We keep this policy under review and may update it from time to time to reflect changes in our business, supply arrangements, or legal and regulatory expectations.
